Fulbright Day: Mozambique – November 22

Photo taken by Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellow Jen Guyton, who was in Mozambique in 2018.

Our Fulbright Day commemoration will consist of a virtual panel of alumni from different Fulbright programs available, including Gaspar Come, Fulbright Teaching English Assistant; Sandra Buvane, Hubert Humphrey Fellow; Tani Machonissa, Fulbright Scholar. The panelists will share their experiences on the impact of their Fulbright exchange, the ways it shaped their current professional trajectories, and offer advice to the future generation of Fulbright applicants that will comprise our target audience. Following their testimonials, there will be a Q&A session for the alumni panel as well as the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section (PAS) staff hosting and coordinating the event.

The platform for the panel will be Zoom and the event will be conducted in Portuguese to maximize participation. Sound bites from the testimonials given during the panel will also be used as stand-alone social media posts on Facebook for further amplification. The event will also serve as a way to re-engage with alumni and harness the power of their experiences for additional recruitment to Fulbright programs.

A recording of the panel will be available after the event on this page.
