The research she did as a Fulbright-Hays/García-Robles Mexico Fellow formed the basis for an award-winning book and has informed her career as a higher education leader.

Her work is guided by a commitment to internationalization and global learning, especially at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Taniqua Huguley

Taniqua Huguley earned her Master’s degree in public policy and conducted Fulbright research in Trinidad and Tobago on the incarceration of young women. Recently, Huguley was named as one of Hartford Business Journal’s Top 25 Women in Business. She is the founder of Black Girls Achieve, an empowerment program for Black girls around the world.

Carina Ho

Carina Ho is an acclaimed Oakland-based indie electronic artist and music producer, a talented professional dancer, and an inspiring children’s book author. She is also a wheelchair-user and a powerful disability rights advocate, who works at Airbnb to promote greater accessibility and inclusion within travel. Carina was paralyzed below the chest following a car accident in 2014.

Leila Cobo

Leila Cobo is a classically trained concert pianist, a novelist, and perhaps her country’s preeminent journalist focusing on Latin Music. As Latin Music has increasingly taken over the U.S. charts, Cobo has been there to document its meteoric rise.

Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg knows about returns on investment, having served as the chief investment officer for the World Bank for 12 years and as the founder and chairwoman of Strategic Investment Group. When she says, “I cannot think of a better return on investment” for the opportunity Fulbright provided, she speaks from experience.

Dr. Bowser is a wildlife ecologist and associate professor at Colorado State University’s Natural Resource Ecology Lab. She believes in the power of citizen scientists and has spent her career demonstrating that everyone can be a scientist.
