During their international exchanges, Fulbrighters come face-to-face with difficult and seemingly intractable problems. In response to these problems, Fulbrighters make use of their newfound academic training, cultural knowledge, and entrepreneurial skills to create innovative solutions that better the world around them.
Fulbrighter and innovator has held leadership roles at multinational companies and holds 14 United States patents.
Dr. Harrison Schmitt was the first scientist on a U.S. spaceflight and is one of only 12 people to set foot on the moon. His unique career as an astronaut, geologist, and U.S. senator was built upon the cornerstone of his Fulbright experience.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus’ lifelong dedication to empowering the world’s poor made him one of his generation’s most celebrated economists and the recipient of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize (jointly awarded with Grameen Bank).
Amar Bose is a Fulbright alum and a household name. Like so many Fulbrighters, he used his intellect, observations, and understanding of what brings people together to make advances that improve the lives and the listening experience of people across the globe.
