To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Program and the 64th Anniversary of Fulbright Iceland, the Commission in Iceland hosted a day full of celebratory events, including the release of a special 75th Anniversary Edition Newsletter, the premier of a grantee profile video and three live events with notable Fulbright alumni.

The Fulbright Commission in Spain joined the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program by organizing a virtual tasting of Spanish wines on March 27.

Rwanda celebrated its Fulbright Day on March 17 with a webinar promoting the Fulbright Program to prospective applicants.

March 19th, 2021, marked Portugal’s Fulbright Day, a special day to celebrate the program's legacy of fostering mutual understanding. Fulbright Portugal held a series of live events with notable Fulbright alumni and guests.

On March 31, the Fulbright Program team in Guinea joined the worldwide celebration of Fulbright’s 75th anniversary by highlighting the cultural importance of exchange programs. Guinea's events dabbled in dance and ventured through the joyous memories of studying abroad and savoring dishes both familiar and unknown.

Venezuela's Fulbright Day was successfully celebrated among 60 participants from ECA, Fulbright alumni, Binational Centers, Venezuelan Universities, diverse professionals, and potential Fulbright applicants.

On April 21, 2021, in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Program, U.S. Mission South Africa celebrated the signing of the NRF-IIE Fulbright Funding agreement. That same evening, four South African Fulbrighters were put to the test in a live-streamed general knowledge quiz!

In celebration of the Fulbright Program’s 75th Anniversary, U.S. Embassy, Port of Spain presented "Fulbright Day Trinidad and Tobago: Alumni Making an Impact," a panel which featured Fulbright alumni leaders from Trinidad and Tobago: Ms. Melissa Jimenez, Dr. Samantha Chaitram, and Dr. Andrew Hunte.

On May 18th, the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission honored 75 years since the global Fulbright Program was initiated and 60+ years of its presence in Romania through the virtual event titled "Fulbright at 75: A Global Response to Global Opportunities and Challenges."

The Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States and Turkey, the Turkish Fulbright Commission, was established by a bi-national agreement signed between the United States and Turkey in 1949. Since the creation of the Commission in 1949, funding has been provided by the governments of Turkey and the United States. On May 7, Turkey celebrated 75 years of the Fulbright Program with a full day of events.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Fulbright, Bolivia will host a month of special activities to mark this momentous occasion. The main event, a virtual alumni summit called "IMPACT: 75 Years of Global Actions, Opportunities, and Connections," will take place on May 25.

The Bulgarian-American Fulbright Commission celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Program worldwide and the achievements of Fulbright Bulgaria alumni on May 24, 2021.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program, the U.S. Embassy in Tunis organized a reception with a small group of Fulbright alumni and a larger group of alumni over Zoom at the Cultural Affairs Officer’s home on May 20.

On June 3, 2021, the U.S. Embassy Tbilisi celebrated the illustrious international company of the Fulbright Program alumni and the 75th anniversary of the program with a full day of events.

North Macedonia celebrated their Fulbright Day with a live event on June 4. It was co-hosted by PAS Skopje and the First Lady of North Macedonia.

Fulbright Israel Day launched an online exhibition celebrating two milestones: 75 years of the Fulbright Programm worldwide, and 65 years of Fulbright Israel.

Fulbright Jordan is pleased to announce its 1st webinar titled “Preserving Heritage, Cultivating Communities: A Reflection from Jordanian and American Fulbright Researchers” as part of the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program worldwide.

Beginning July 1, Fulbright Thailand will celebrate the longstanding and constructive collaboration between Thailand and the United States through the Fulbright Program with an online presentation and social media features.

On July 3, Fulbright Philippines celebrated their Fulbright Day alongside Philippine Republic Day/Philippine-American Friendship Day by highlighting impactful alumni across several fields.

On July 17th, Fulbright Day: Honduras brought together Fulbrighters from around the world to celebrate 75 years of the Fulbright Program, and more than 31 years of activities by Honduran Fulbrighters and the local Fulbright alumni association.

In celebration of the worldwide Fulbright Program’s 75th anniversary, Fulbright Korea hosted a webinar exploring the impact of the Fulbright Program among members and friends of the North Korean Defector (NKD) community.

Fulbright Day Ghana: Preservation and Innovation in Visual Art and Music was a roundtable that explored contemporary developments in the arts in Ghana and their growing influence on the global stage.

Lithuania joined countries around the world in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program with several events, both online and in-person.

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) celebrates 75 years of the Fulbright Program and 70 years of the commission in 2021.

On August 19, the U.S. Embassy San José in Costa Rica celebrated the Fulbright Program's anniversary with online features and an alumni association event.

On August 4, Fulbright Estonia highlighted the strong partnership between the people of the United States and Estonia.

On August 25th, Fulbright Argentina hosted a virtual live panel: "The Fulbright Experience: How Fulbright Changed My Life" to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program and to share the personal and professional accomplishments of Fulbright alumni.

On August 6, Latvia celebrated Fulbright Day with a social media campaign (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) that highlighted three alumni who have positively impacted U.S.-Latvia relations.

In worldwide celebration of the Fulbright Program’s 75th anniversary, on August 26th, Fulbright Ecuador hosted a virtual live panel: “The Impact of Fulbrighters on Higher Education in Ecuador.”

On September 1st, Lebanon celebrated their Fulbright Day by televising a video clip featuring Fulbright alumni on the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI).

The Angola Fulbright Alumni Association held an activity to increase awareness of the impact of the Fulbright Program in Angola over the past years while engaging with the youth community in Corimba, a local community in Luanda.

Fulbright Day: Germany united current grantees, alumni, educators and “new voices” in the transatlantic bond between Germany and the U.S.

In celebration of the worldwide Fulbright 75th anniversary, U.S. Embassy Abidjan hosted panel discussions, conferences, and a workshop on "Ideation and Literature" at American Spaces throughout Côte d’Ivoire.

Mission Cyprus celebrated the legacy of the Fulbright program in Cyprus, operating since 1962, with a reception honoring its most prominent alumni on the island and those who continue to make the Fulbright program possible.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program, the Fulbright Commission in Australia hosted an online discussion panel featuring four pre-eminent Fulbright Scholars, and moderated by Emmy award-winning journalist and Fulbright Board member, Sara James.

On October 7, Fulbright Ukraine celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program with an in-person event featuring live jazz music and visual art.

On October 8, Fulbright Hungary commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program and the 30th anniversary of the Hungary Fulbright Association with an event titled, “A Community Based on Shared Values,” held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

On November 12, 2021, the United States Educational Foundation in India celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program with the opening of the art exhibit “Reciprocation - American Fulbright Artists and India/Collaborations & Connections.” The exhibit opened on November 12, 2021 and continued until December 8, 2021.

On November 4, Fulbright Denmark’s Anniversary Symposium took place at Carlsberg Academy, Copenhagen. The symposium was titled “From Soft Diplomacy to Science Diplomacy."

In two online events, in cooperation with colleagues from neighboring countries, the Czech Fulbright Commission introduced the stories of ETA alumni and cooperative work of a group of Czech and U.S. alumni in the field of arts.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program, U.S. Embassy Dhaka and Bangladeshi Fulbright alumni hosted a special two-day virtual conference titled “Celebrating 75 Years of Fulbright: U.S.-Bangladesh Together Towards Tomorrow” on October 27-28, 2021.

For Fulbright Day: Austria, Fulbright Austria hosted a panel discussion to focus on the achievements of their programs and their alumni.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary, and recognize 64 years of educational and cultural exchanges between Ireland and the U.S., the Fulbright Commission in Ireland and the U.S. Embassy in Ireland hosted a special in-person Fulbright Alumni evening.

Fulbright Brazil held an online Fulbright Day on 5 November 2021 with a livestreamed panel discussion focusing on Fulbright impact in the lives of Brazilian and US citizens.

For their Fulbright Day, the Fulbright Commission in Egypt (BFCE) hosted a special virtual alumni anniversary event titled “75 Years of Friendship and Exchange."

Fulbright Italy presented a panel titled, "Identity and searching for Black lives in the archives in the words of Lanitra Berger and Maaza Mengiste" with award-winning author and Fulbright alumna Maaza Mengiste, social justice advocate and award-winning scholar LaNitra Berger, and Fulbright Italy Board Member Timothy Martin.

As the Mexico-U.S. Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (COMEXUS) celebrates the Fulbright Program’s 75th Anniversary and its own 30th year of existence, November 10 served as “Fulbright Day” in Mexico! This day kicked off with interactive posts and stories on social media and ended with a Fulbright Anniversary Discussion Series (Conversatorios).

The U.S. Embassy to Libya hosted a Facebook Live panel discussion with alumni to celebrate 75 years of the Fulbright Program.

AMINEF, the binational Fulbright Commission in Indonesia, hosted an exciting series of online talks to celebrate Fulbright's 75th anniversary.

In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright program, the Commission in Chile presented a conversation with the National Economic Prosecutor, Mr. Ricardo Riesco Eyzaguirre (Fulbright 2004).

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Program, which coincides with the 25th Anniversary of the bilateral Fulbright Program, Embassy Malta will host: three events.

On November 17-18, the U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic, along with the Instituto Cultural Domínico-Americano, celebrated the Fulbright Anniversary Conference: 75 Years of Impact.

Fulbright Taiwan and the American Institute in Taiwan hosted a gala dinner on November 15 at the Regent Taipei Hotel in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program.

On December 1, the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Program by having a virtual round-table discussion entitled " Fulbright Legacy and the Power of Educational Exchange."

The Fulbright Day: Mozambique commemoration consisted of a virtual panel of alumni from different Fulbright programs available, including Gaspar Come, Fulbright Teaching English Assistant; Sandra Buvane, Hubert Humphrey Fellow; Tani Machonissa, Fulbright Scholar.

To celebrate 75 years of the global Fulbright Program, Fulbright New Zealand brought together a dynamic group of visual artists whose Fulbright experience significantly shaped key turning points in their artistic practice.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the global Fulbright Program, the Fulbright Commission in Sri Lanka presented a virtual keynote address, “Connecting Crossing Boundaries and Imaging sans Structures: Reflections on Fulbright Experiences," by Fulbright Alumnus and eminent scholar Prof. Gamini Keerawella.

Celebrating the Fulbright Program’s 75th Anniversary, the Commission in Peru hosted a Facebook Live event with Fulbright alumni who discussed their participation in Fulbright Projects, a special initiative.

U.S. Embassy Ashgabat celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the world-renowned Fulbright Program. Alumni will have a chance to meet each other in person to network.

On December 7, 2021, the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program through a virtual open house entitled, "The Bridge: Fulbright @ 75."

During Albania’s Fulbright Day, which coincided with International Education Week, Public Affairs Officers Chad Twitty and Amanda Roberson delivered welcome remarks and highlighted the many contributions of Albanian Fulbright alumni in academia, where a large number hold leadership positions.  

To celebrate Fulbright Program’s 75th Anniversary, the Fulbright Commission in Uruguay hosted an online event to present a short movie with the testimonies of US and Foreign grantees, board members and collaborators of the program.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Program, Fulbright Poland presented a tribute concert honoring the life and memory of pianist and Fulbright Poland alumna Pamela Howland (1956-2021).

Mission Saudi Arabia commemorated the Fulbright 75th anniversary through media outreach, social media posts, and alumni receptions to recognize Fulbright alumni achievements.

Fulbright Mongolia highlighted their amazing alumni and partners and their contributions to foster mutual understanding between the United States and Mongolia, share knowledge across communities, and improve lives around the world.
